Whew

I did it...I got the computer fixed! I think...as best as possible? All thanks to Neil for the tremendous assistance! I think there are still some kinks to get fixed, but it's been running sublime this evening!

The rest of my stay in Beaverland was great! I forgot where I stopped off...tuesday? Tuesday night was dinner at Snapper Vick's with Nicki and Lisa...Tami showed up after and then her brother and then Jason. We had an excellent time, except for sick Nicki...hope you're feeling better!

Wednesday...oh yes, I posted a baby picture! She's adorable...everyone's home and she's a poop machine! (see beginning of Jay & Bob Strike's Back) I also had some Rocky's for lunch that day with Neil and Tara...then to Fort. Home again after the baby viewing and then a fun night out! Dos for dinner with Mike, Christine, Randy and Shelley...and Renee for a little while. Then we went out where I think we may have been the oldest ones there except for that crazy bearded feller. Teehee! It was fun, saw a lot of my track kids from back in the day, my how they grow!

Thursday...went and visited with Cindy for awhile where Hannah was a silly goose. Then up by Jane again to spread some christmas cheer and then later in the afternoon off to the Sutton's! Had an excellent meal of course!

Friday I ran some errands, went and saw the Okon's and that was about it! Back to reality!

We went and saw the new Bond movie...Greg really liked it...I thought it was good too. I've seen the old ones, but not many of the new ones. Oooh, and we got invited over to someone's house!!! Someone's actual house! We watched the Georgia game, but mostly ate food. It was fun.

Not much else going on...rained today so maybe the heat will go away. it's been in the upper 70's and a bit muggy. This weekend is "transform into Christmas" weekend!

Happy weekend!

troubles

I'm back in Georgia after an awesome trip...but now our computer has taken a total dump and I only have a short time at work to use the internet.

I got to see almost everyone I needed to see while I was home and had an excellent time while there. Turkey dinner was awesome at Brett's...why didn't I eat more!?! Haha!

Have a good week!

D-Day

I haven't heard from Angie yet, but there should be a new baby girl in the world right now!

I am having fun at home...got here saturday morning...got my hair cut, stopped by neice and brought her along with me for the day. We went to the bowling alley by Tara & Megan (Megan was there for a birthday party) and we bowled a game...then we had some food...headed to wal-mart where the girls acted like goofballs and made everyone smile. Saturday night Renee came over for her beauti control show...it was just me, Tara and my mom, but it was fun and we rushed her so we could all go to Heine's for pizza! Yay! After that Renee and I went out on the town (Tara too for awhile), but apparently no one else was out on the town 'cause we saw no one! But we had fun.

Sunday was shopping...the Roedl girls went to Mayfair mall and had fun. Sunday night just hung out with Mom and Dad.

Monday I had the offspring study thing in the a.m. That lasted until 11:30 or so...then I went to Pig and got a doughnut and did a little shopping. I made dessert for that night...picked up Taylor from school...and that night Dick, Elaine, Tony, Tricia and Taylor were there for a glorious supper...roast chicken, mashed taters, green bean casserole, corn, stuffing...and my dessert of course. Yum...Raspberry Dream Cheesecake...it's not as heavy as a regular cheesecake (not the exact recipe link, but you can search for what you like!) Then I was whisked out the door with Tricia to go and pick up a christmas present for Taylor in Madison. We stopped at East Town too and I accomplished one of my errands. Yay!

Now it's tuesday...went to Larson's for brekkies. Mom and I ran some errands...I got 5 packages of brats and a ring bologna to take with me from Rechek's, yum! We stopped at Freber's for a ring cleaning and watch batteries. Now mom's at church with Tricia, Dad's out looking for the lot line and I'm updating the world. After church we're going up by Jane and to Herberger's, who's having a sale...Herberger's, not Jane! Tonight is Snapper Vick's with some of the gals and tomorrow is baby viewing day! Yahoo!

Alright, I'm getting sleeping sitting in this comfortable chair...Happy Thanksgiving!

Who's more excited

A couple things happen in just a couple weeks...I come home and my dear friend Angie will give birth to her baby girl. Hmmm...

Another lousy Packer loss today...what were they thinking throwing a pass on the 1 yard line? Cripes. But the Badgers are kicking some more hiney and are ranked #16 right now.

We finally got to Mrs. Wilkes Boarding house for lunch while Mike & Christine were here. Oh man, was that good. The fried chicken is the best in the world! Rank that high on the to do list! Anyways, you saw our costumes, here's a couple more pictures from the beach...

Good times, good times.

Here is me last night, marking the first wearing of the scarf & mitties. I also have on a long sleeve shirt, short sleeve shirt, purple fleece and a sweatshirt. I was toasty warm. Greg, long sleeve shirt, short sleeve shirt and light leather jacket, not so warm...no scarf or mitties! Who's the girl scout!?!? :) Anyways, Tracy Byrd was playing down at River St during the seafood festival. We didn't sea-fest, but watched a little bit of the show. It was fun.

Not much else going on. Greg's hanging out with some boys right now, drowning their sorrows. I went to the library, how exciting! It's been cold all weekend, but mid-week it's supposed to get up in the 80's again. What crazy weather. Make up yer mind already! Okeedokee...time to see if there's anything that needs to get accomplished around the "condo". Happy November!

Delicious new treat

I don't know if I'm the inventor and need to take out a patent, but if you mush a caramel and a tootsie roll together, it is SUBLIME! Try it for yourself!

Let's see...let me post some pictures, I've been slacking.

Here's Greg's Mom while she was out here...we went out to Tybee to The Breakfast Club and her and I went to tip our toes in the ocean. It was hot out.

These are some people we watch the Packer Games with...farthest away is Brad who works on boats and is from Door County. Next is George who got Greg his job and then his girl Mary...they are from Racine. And the last gal is Sondra (right?) She's Brad's girl and currently lives up in Athens. She's not the last girl...Daisy's the last girl!!! We ran into Daisy and her owners in City Market...her dad, Kyle, actually is from Hustisford and is cousins with a guy from my class! He's in the military and is married to Abbie who's from Savannah (that's his hand and glass.)

Here's the little man! He had a shower one night sans tube so they took some pictures. Awww. If you go to Charles' blog you can see more and even videos. He had rice cereal the other day!

This is Angie's little guy Tyler taken awhile ago, but I wanted to compare & contrast the two peanuts...

And this is our new car. Hahaha...right. We saw this downtown. Later we saw it by City Market and some Asians were "trying" to drive it. They grinded while shifting and backed into a chain link fence. Luckily the fence was there...otherwise they'd have been 6 stories down in a hole.

That's about it. Greg went to watch the Packer game, but I have come down with a cold, so I opted to stay home and rest. After the game we have to find Greg a halloween costume!

Five Dollar Brats?!?!

Are you freaking kidding me?!?! Um, no. Sadly we went down to "Oktoberfest" earlier today and were relishing in the fine odors of brats and sauerkraut (kraut, yuck) and had a hankering for a "bratwurst" (heaven forbid they just call it a brat...oh wait, they might think they actually meant a mean little kid) until we saw they were $5. What a rip!

This is how it should be done.
Cost in 1983-$1:
Cost Today-$1

How 'bout those Badgers!!! Keep it going boys! I guess Barry didn't make a bad choice 'tall!

We went and saw The Departed today. Excellent...don't wait for video...especially if you want to know what they're talking about at the Oscars. :) Go Leo! Go Jack!

Capri Pants in October?!?!

Just a quickie...
Yes sir, I was wearing capri pants yesterday and today. And don't forget sandals yet...and white ones no less the other day! Jealous?
Greg's mom is back home safe and sound. She had a great time.
This weekend is Oktoberfest on the river front and Pirate Fest out on Tybee. What to do, what to do! Tomorrow is the weiner dog races, that could be fun!
Haven't done much of anything. Went and saw School for Scoundrels...wait for the video folks. Had it's moments, but not theatre worthy. This weekend is Employee of the Month and The Departed. Greg wants to see both. So we just might...as long as it doesn't interfere with the weiner dog races!
Have a good weekend ya'll! Time to gussy up for work. Whoppee!

visitor #3 or 6 depending on how you count

Greg's mom made it down after a long journey via Amtrak. She had some good stories to tell of course! Let's just say she saw lots of interesting things and got a free night in Chicago. :)

What have we been doing? eating silly! The Breakfast Club out on Tybee saturday morning along with feets in the ocean and some sight seeing. Saturday night at Huey's with some viewing along river street. Sunday morning, or rather brunch time we went somewhere new! J Christopher's. I had chocolate chip pancakes! Deeeeeelicious! And some more touring around...and of course the packer game! She and I only stayed until half-time and we went to wal-mart and then back to the house and waited for greg. That night we ordered Mellow Mushroom pizza and a calzone. It was grand!

Now she's been on her own for two days having a blast. A trolley tour yesterday and again today (day 2 is free and you can get on and off). Last night we went to Six Pence Pub for dinner. It was good, I had Pork Roast, but the Open Faced beef roast thingie is the best! Yum. Carol had Banger's & Mash last night, it was a fun experience!

That's about it for now! Carol leaves late wednesday night so two more suppers to go. We think we'll do crab legs and shrimp at home tomorrow night. Yum! tonight? Something by the grocery store. :)

Vistitor #3 if you only count people since we moved...visitor #6 if you count the 3 that helped us!

Back to work!

Packers & Names & Whatever Else

Dang Packers...another great lose by them. Start strong, get comfortable, then nothing...don't seal the deal. Who's fault is it? Offensive line. And a few receivers with some super glue on their hands wouldn't hurt either.

Names...well, I just received word on what one Miss Brittany Spears named her newborn son. Sutton Pierce Federline. Have fun with that everyone! I wonder if they'll call him Sutty too?

Whatever else...had a nice weekend...enjoyed the Packer game outside (you'll be jealous when it's December and we're doing that!) Saw a couple good bands...tried to watch Sister Hazel up in the park, but the opening act sucked so we left for awhile and came back, heard a bit of it and then gave up. They're alright, but wasn't in the mood for college soft rock.

Another week of work coming up! Greg's Mom comes on Friday morning. I'm coming to BD during Thanksgiving week. The neighbors are back from their summer excursion. That's about it! Have a good week!

Bestill my gossip mongoring eyes...

Something is going down in the park...I just know it! There's a HUGE tent set up along one of the sidewalks leading up to the fountain...not next to, but over. There was a classy white limo at "the mansion" (the swanky hotel by the park). But then I thought, no, who'd be here, everyone's up in Canada at the Toronto Film Festival, but then I thought, PERFECT! No paparazzi to bug them. Brilliant I must say. Soooo...maybe Greg will go for a walk with me later tonight to snoop. :) I keep forgetting to mention my link to all gossip... www.laineygossip.com She's funny and actually digs for the truth and doesn't blow smoke up your behind. And my other favorite, www.gofugyourself.com Love it.

We haven't been up to too much lately...we went to Jekyll Island Labor Day. It's a island about 90 miles south of here. Didn't do too much but ate at an awful place, SeaJay's. Yuck. I didn't know it was humanely possibly to f-up chicken fingers, but they did it! 2 thumbs up for that. It's a great place if you want to take a leisurely bike ride or hang out at the beach.

Last weekend we walked down to Jen's & Friends one night and laughed at the "culture" (that would be people.) It's a cute place, supposed to be a Martini bar I think, but they were playing football games. It was entertaining...and no smoking inside, yay! Friday night we tried a restaurant in the mall! Eegads! It was good tho. Texas Road House...we both had steak and were pleasantly surprised. Oh cripes, I just looked at the website and they're all over WI. East side of Madison coming in October.

Otherwise we've just been working. Boring! Oh wait NOOOOO!!! I forgot the best news since the return from vacation!!! The ding dong that I worked with quit!!! And I must say in the most fashionable way. First she called in the morning (this is wednesday after putting up with her for one painstaking day) and asked for the "boss"...he was busy, take a message? "Yeah...my, um, alarm, um, didn't go off, so um, I'll be there...okay?" alrighty! Then about a hour later (just after we were wondering what the heck was taking so long and how we usually get ready faster than a speeding bullet in that situation) she calls back...talks to the boss. "Yeah, I don't really want to come in, um, ever...I want to quit, but don't know what to um, say..." Boss says "that's good enough right there." Toodles. Things go so much smoother and normal now, it's amazing.

So that's my glorious story! Ahhh. I am a lot more tired tho...I have to work a lot harder at the copier machine. Haha! :)

Time to make dinner! Later buckaroos!

My trip

Alright, here's the skinny on my trip to California to meet the little man! (Sorry, no pics yet...for some reason my card reader is not working, I'll get them tomorrow somehow!)

Saturday (August 26th) Charles picked me up from the hospital and we went direct to the hospital. Saul had a doc appt Thursday before and he was immediately checked into the hospital for dehydration...lack of eating. Mom & Dad were there with Sara and Saul so it was a good little family reunion, luckily the rooms are fairly good sized! So I met the little guy, and he's little and cute and cuddly and adorable! Dad doesn't look like he just had a quadruple bypass either by the way. We had a late lunch, Charles stayed with Tarzan and the rest of us went to The Elephant Bar...A jungle place...good food and reasonable prices (not Cali sky high!) That night Mom and Dad stayed at the hospital so Sara could try and get a good night's sleep.

Sunday was more hospital time...I went home with Mom & Dad so they could freshen up...on the way back we stopped at a mall (sunglasses and sympathy cards, my 2nd cousin passed away from a bad heart.) A few friends of S&C's came by and we went to the Circus Buffet...a Chinese place...but no crab rangoons! Back to hospital for awhile then home. So while Tarzan is in the hospital and for the future, he has to get at least 2 oz. of food in him, either by mouth/bottle or down the nose with a NG tube. They put the tube in sunday afternoon and it has been in ever since...you'll see pictures. He has also had numerous tests which he passed with flying colors! So Sunday night we went to the house and I whipped up a batch of cookie dough to make in the morning.

Monday morning I baked cookies and then off to the hospital! Sara was excited for those cookies! So were a few of the nurses...haha! Today Tarzan had a MRI which went fine...during that time, me, M&D went to Best Buy & Expo center (Home Depot for the affluent class or nothing better to spend money on then a $600 shower head.) We had a late lunch at Subway and back to the hospital! M&D decided to stay the night again so Sara could get some sleep, or at least try. Sara and I stayed while everyone went home to pack up and he got a bath and I held him under a heat lamp for awhile...did it get chilly when the lamp went off! (They keep him wrapped up tight and warm so he doesn't burn too many calories!) M&D came back, Sara and I went home...Charles ordered pizza, so we had pizza, beer and watched Benchwarmers.

Tuesday...off to the hospital! Hung out for awhile then went with M&D and had Goodies Good Eats for lunch...it was good. Then we went home, they freshened up and we left Dad to get some rest. Mom and I went to Kohl's (glorious new store!) and Santana Row. Of course we found some stuff! Not much tho. But a cute shirt for Sara! Then we went to the hospital and eventually me and mom went home.

Wednesday: guess where? Hospital! But there is an end in sight! He comes home tomorrow! And when we got there, he ate a whole bottle himself! He's been more awake and alert the past few days, he has such big eyes! Teehee! Me, mom and dad went and had lunch at Flames...MmMmm! Mom decided to stay for another week and send Dad home to fend for himself. Sara said it was the 8lb rule...whoever's 8lbs or under needs her assistance, so Tarzan won. Weds nite me, Dad, Sara, and Charles went over to Dale and Joan's for a fabulous fish fiesta! Dale and a group go to Mexico fishing every year and this year they brought back 500lbs of filleted fish. That's a lot of fish. (Dale and Joan are the ones who organized the not-wedding reception party for S&C back in April. They were also on Iron Chef!)

Thursday: Dad went home and Tarzan went home! Before Tarzan went home tho he had to stop at the endocrinologist...Mom and I grabbed a quick Subway lunch before that, dropped them off and then went home with the milk. We came home, yay! Mom and I ran a couple errands and she made macaroni and cheese for supper! It was so nice to hang out all together at home and watch Tarzan in his vibrating chair. :)

Friday: Another day at home. There were a couple walks...a home health nurse came by...I made more cookies...Mom and I did some running around...Charles made Seafood Enchiladas for supper and his OMJ rice. Yummers! Tarzan will eat most of his food during the afternoon hours, but he's a brat at night! I think he'd sleep through the night if you let him!

Saturday...ho hum, the day I left. Nothing exciting here...fed the baby, cuddled, got ready and went to the airport to spend a glorious zillion hours in the air and in the stinky airports. Got back here about 11, Greg came and got me and home we went!

still in the hospital

We're still hangin out in the hospital. he's passing all his tests with flying colors...he's just a stubborn male that doesn't want to eat! I'm sure there's more info on Charles' blog, so head on over there! I'm on my way!

The weather is awesome, no humidity!

Little Guy

Well, it looks like I'll get to experience seeing my new nephew for the first time in the hospital just like if he was just born! He is okay, just dehydrated, so they're feeding him and all that and monitoring his intake. Not sure when he'll get to go home either, I suppose when he's eating right. He's gained 4 oz already, whohoo!

Everyone have a good week! Pictures to come! :)

We're still alive

Yup, we're still here...sweating like pigs...eating like kings and queens...

We tried a new place over the weekend, Bella's Italian Restaurant. Eh...don't worry, it's not on our "must eat" list for visitors. I got pizza and Greg got lasagna. The 'za was blah and the lasagna was so-so. Our waitress tho? She apparently wasn't in a good mood that night! She was unpleasant and did not pass my test. No no no.

No beach the past weekend. We got suckered into Sam's club! Now we can buy 500 rolls of TP in one package and a 50 pack of razors! Yahoo!

We missed the Dodge County Fair this past weekend for the first time in eon's. Cheap Trick we luckily saw open for Aerosmith a couple years ago...but I'd like to have seen SheDaisy! La La La!

In 4 short days from now I'll get to see my new nephew Saul! Yay!!! I'm so excited I could pee my pants. Here's the latest shot courtesy of my sister...ain't he a looker!

My camera is ready for 100+ pictures, so be ready for the onslaught when I get back!

That's about it for now...I have to go start supper, spaghetti, I'm lazy. I'm going to attempt blackened chicken again tomorrow night. My first try awhile ago wasn't very black, so we'll see!

Stay cool ya'll!

Adventures!

We did something today! How 'bout that! We decided to take a drive north on Hwy 17 and see what we could see. Well, we didn't see a whole lot and on the way decided we wanted to see some plantations. As we got closer to Charleston we saw a sign for this place, Magnolia Plantation, and decided that was the place to go. (click on the line below the photo or the link on the left for Pictures to see the rest.)

It was really neat and about time we did some sight-seeing! After we tired of walking in the sun (which only happened later in the afternoon, prior it was gorgeous out as you can tell by my hair actually being down and not in a pony tail for once), we headed towards Charleston. We were actually in North Charleston, which seems to be more of the suburbs type area. We found a downtown area and parked and stumbled across the shopping district. Comparable to State St. in Madison, but with one way traffic and narrower sidewalks. We ended up eating at Mellow Mushroom (who can pass up that intro!) Then we walked around a-bit and then went to investigate further the invisible Fort Sumter tour. If you remember last time we went to Charleston, we couldn't find it for the life of us. Well, this time it was easy! There's a Monument with Tickets right inside. So we went in there and got the information for next time. By now it was already 4pm and no more tours going out...we were both pooped anyways. Then we headed home.

Greg's watching Night of the Living Dead I think and I'm writing this. Entourage is on at 10 so I have to stay up for that! That show makes me giggle. I tried to do the interview with Ari, but shooting up zombies is way to loud right now.

We haven't been up to too much else. If you haven't guessed by now the owner on that house didn't go for our offer. Fine, let it sit empty sucker! So now we really will be patiently waiting for some lucky person to buy the house in WI. (Oh this movie is gross.) I'm going to California in two weeks to see my handsome new nephew! Yay! I'm so excited! Hopefully I'm helpful and not a hindrance! Gramma & Grampa will be there too. (Greg is watching this movie in the dark! Eeeek!)

Toodle-loo ya'll. Hope your weekend was great!

Oh, my bad, it's Land of the Dead, not Night of the Living Dead. But then again, what's the difference. Yuck either way. :)
