2 months 2 weeks 2 days to go

That would be as of June 19th, 29 weeks. The fella I worked with in Savannah is due (his wife is due) August 19th...so when I told them I was pregnant too, I held out some books Angie sent me and said "I can't do it anymore, I'm 2 weeks and 2 days behind you!" They're having a girl, Stella. We're having a boy, Thor. :)

Here's 29 weeks

When I look down it looks like a big ball. It's so weird to see it from the side...it freaks me out a little bit! And I can still paint my toes! Although this weekend is Mike & Christine's wedding and I'm pampering myself with a pedicure and updo. Yay! I've got a new dress, new shoes and a man in a tux...what more does a girl need?

Haven't heard anything from the glucose test #2. They did 3 draws in the same area on my left arm...that hurt like crap! On the 3rd one it hurt when the guy just rubbed the alcohol pad on there! The 4th one I went in and threw out my right arm and said "let's use this one this time, I'll faint if we do the left again." So I'm assuming no news is good news so far. I have an appointment next wednesday (27th) so we'll know for sure. Then 2 weeks after that, another ultra sound.

Not much else going on. I'm just excited for the wedding...I think the last one I was at was ours. Oh no, there was another one that summer, but I think that's it until now. 3 years without a wedding!!?!? Wow. Oh wait, one of my cousins got married after us...but they didn't have a dance, so it's not the same. And Greg didn't go, work. Then next weekend is Def Leppard at Summerfest! yay! Sugarland is playing on another stage at 10pm, so maybe I can catch some of that too, although I'll be the only one that wants to see them I think. Everyone else will probably want to watch Blue Oyster Cult. Puuhleaze. I want to see Sugarland in person so bad...and seeing as I'm the pregnant one, I think I win.

What's after that...4th of July. That'll be weird having it in the middle of the week. Nothing big planned...just going to the annual party in Fort Atkinson at Uncle Bill & Aunt Lorna's.

Until week 30, with wedding pictures too, toodles.

27 weeks

Here's the tum-tum at 27 weeks.

Thor's very active in there...I can watch him roll around and push out and do whatever he's doing in there. He gets the hiccups often, but luckily they don't last long...at least I think it's the hiccups!

Not much going on this week. or the past few days. ready for the warm weather to kick in and rain to stop!

Off to the races!

The Chewy Spree Incident

I lived this story on saturday the 2nd and re-told it to Angie to cheer her up today. It's too funny I think not to share with the world.

So I'm driving to Kenosha and stop at that gas station in Allenton and get a tootsie roll and oooh, chewy sprees! I woof down the tootsie roll (what is that anyways besides delicious goodness?) and then I'm snacking on the sprees. I'm about 2/3 done with the little bag and all of the sudden I start minorly choking on some chewy spree juice or something...you know how they have a little pucker to them? I'm like okay, take a drink of water, felt okay for a second and then start coughing again and WHAM...it comes back UP! So I have a mouthful of puke flavored chewy spree water and am going 73 mph down Hwy 45 or 894 or wherever I am at the moment...luckily there wasn't too much traffic around me...I'm looking around, what to do, what to do!!! I'm in the middle lane, there's too many cars in the right lane to veer over and stop...so I go over into the left lane, roll down the window and spit it out!!! Needless to say some landed on the door frame there...and some had snuck out onto the steering wheel and seat before i caught my mouth. Nothing too major. Luckily I found a Dairy Queen napkin to wipe up all that. Eegads!

I finished the chewy sprees today without incident. :)

He's a keeper!

As I sit here shoving my face full of chocolate chip cookies, my 2+ pound alien thrashes around in my belly. If you know about the cookies, you understand the thrashing..."more mama, more!!!" So I dive into #3. They're small! I used the small scoop! Never too young for chocolate chip cookies!

Like I said, I had a doc appt yesterday...everything was fine, heartbeat was 154, the nurse was all excited...the doc said his head is down, but things can flip of course. Then he ordered another ultra sound so I had that today (31st). Pardon me, laundry beckons...no Angie, I didn't hang any on the line this time, it's dark out!

I had to drink 32 oz of water in an hour this morning, my bladder hasn't felt right since! I don't think I quit made it to 32, I felt like I was going to spring a leak! And wouldn't you know as I was leaving the hospital I saw the glorious sign for the bathroom (stop #2), but the DUDE was in there cleaning!!! Typical. Men. I got a couple pictures, I can only really tell what one of them is all about. I asked for a picture of the manhood to show Greg, but she couldn't do that. Is that considered kiddie porn or something? But Greg has only seen the first u/s blob in person, if I have another one, hopefully they work with me to schedule it at a good time. Anyways, here's Thor at a little over 2 pounds, 26 weeks 2 days:

You can see his cute little nose and lips, chin...the fish looking thing above him is his arm. If you look good you can see his eyes or eyelids...I saw his ribs and the bones in his arms...and his little heart beating away like crazy. And I think he's folded up like a pretzel. I thought it was his hinder sticking out on my right side, but it sounds like it's an elbow that he throws out. I don't know, I couldn't really follow the tech on his position. I know where the head is and that's about it.

And here, if you can handle it, is his house. I made Greg watch my belly move this weekend...I don't think he liked it. It freaks me out too. But I think there's a noticeable difference in that belly! Yikes!

I suppose that covers...OOOH, Sara and Saul are coming home in July for the shower! Charles is going fishing in Mexico for bullheads or something. AND somebody had an excellent weekend without his feeding tube! Yay!!!

Now I think I got it all!

I burned my cheesy rice!

Well, not totally, but it did get a little crunchy. Luckily I am a rice-a-roni whiz and was able to save it. Whew!

So here's 25 weeks in all its glory. I believe it grew from friday to saturday magically...it's amazing.

I'm starting to get rather itchy too. And notice that fine curve of the spine, almost time for a massage! I might go cash in the change for that...shhh, don't tell Greg. haha!

Not much going on in Beaverland. The weather is divine...3-day weekend coming up...

I go for my monthly check-up next week wednesday, so I'll post again after that.

I think I need a nap!

24 weeks

We're at 24! I've actually been able to see my belly/skin MOVING with Thor...like when he pushes out, I see it move and to be honest, it freaks the CRAP out of me!!! There's a freaking little human being in there, and it has to come out. Come out?!?! And it's alive?!?! Freaking incredible. I'm very gald I'm not an elephant tho, 2 years of this? How do they cope? I also think I'm starting to feel the hiccups. They don't last very long thank goodness. What else...I'm enjoying all the excellent clothes I got from my friends and sister. See, it does pay to be the last in line in some respects! Oh yes, I have two registries, Target & Babies-r-us. I'm sure there'll still be some tweeking here and there...I want Greg to put in his two cents on the stroller thingy I picked out and I'm sure something's missing. You know that feeling...like going on a road trip and having that gut wrenching feeling you left the iron on, but really you forgot your toothbrush and the $3 one out of the vending machine hurts your gums...something like that.

Okay, here's 24 weeks...(the shorts are a different color, but they're the same cut/style as the grey ones.)

And here's Porter after a long day of being outside on his own!

(And now he's drooling and ready to puke at any second, hence why I'm not fast asleep at this point. What did those little freaking neighbor kids feed him?)

Good night, I think it's safe now.

23 weeks

and holy crap, only 17 to go? If that? Eeek!

Here Thor is in all his glory...

There was a showing on the house tonight. I forgot to do one thing...fold up a blanket and place a pillow on the couch correctly. Booger snots, there goes the sale. I'm wondering if it was the same people that stalked the house on sunday and a few hours later, even came up and rang the doorbell. Needless to say a nap was in progress and their call was not answered. Disturb my nap, how rude.

I just had the most boring night at work. We stop serving food at 10, I didn't have a table since 8pm. 5 people came in at 9:55 tho! Sat at the bar...not my domain.

Nighty night!

Meet Riley, Thor & Tigger

Where to begin! It's been a fun couple weeks, lots of stuff going on.

First off, meet Riley Robert Okon...Born 4/28/07 around noon. 6lb 15oz, 21"...a little noodle! Everyone is doing splendidly and Tara is adjusting to being a mother of a boy!

Second off, meet Thor, God of Thunder...at least in my belly! Yup, it's a boy! A very active boy. And no doubt about either one per the ultrasound tech.

And here is the last two weeks:

21 weeks

22 weeks

I freak out each time I see my profile in the mirror...where did that come from!!?!? Although I think I've only gained 8 pounds or so overall. So far. The best is yet to come! Last week (5/2) I had another appt because I'm a new patient and when checking the heart rate, he had the hiccups! I couldn't feel it (whew), but it was fun to hear.

Have to get prepared to buy some Def Leppard along with special guests Foreigner and Styx tickets. They're going to be at Summerfest. Should be a good time. I have 23 minutes! And I need a shower, but waiting for the towels to dry. Whoopee! And then going with Mom to a green house...add some curb appeal with a pot of flowers or something.

Oh my gosh, yesterday I had garage sale FEVER! I went to Lake Mills by Angie for their city wide sale and I did a little damage. Got Thor some excellent clothing...lots of new stuff even. Yay! I also found one of those bouncy vibrating chairs and a bouncing Tigger...Porter likes that!

Off to the towels! Happy weekend!

20 weeks + 1 day

Here's the weekly update...

Porter needed to get in on the action too. My camera makes a wolf howling noise when it goes off with the self timer, so he totally digs it and is an excellent poser.

I have been feeling the little midget a lot...usually when I am sitting for awhile and in the morning. I am to the halfway point, yay! Right now it's 6.5" and 10 oz. or something like that based on babycenter.com. Oh wait, really, 10" head to foot! Woah...

Hallmark is nearing the end...they're hoping friday is the last day, but then they still have to pack & inventory everything.

That's all the excitement I got...time for a snack and a siesta. Toodle-loo

For your viewing pleasure...

...if you like looking at ever expanding belly shots.

17 weeks
18 weeks
19 weeks

Holy crap, it's getting bigger.

Um, pay no attention to the expanding bum either. Oops! They're just balancing each other out! :)

Doc appt on the 24th down in Kenosha. Don't know when the ultrasound will be, hopefully that same day.

Otherwise not much else. Worked at Dos tonight, heard all about the snow allll night, annoying. Have 3 showings this week on the house, yay! And now I need a snack! Nighty night!

Oh no, wait!!! I won something today, season 3 of Entourage!!! I won it off my gossip blog I read religiously. She means me in the first paragraph of Tuesday, April 10th! I love that show and got Greg addicted also when I rented the previous seasons off netflix. Oh joy, oh rapture!

B & B

No, not bed and breakfast...boobs and belly.

17 weeks

I have an 18 week one, but can't find the camera at this point. Nothing exciting has been going on with that aspect. I'm going to call monday for a doctor in Kenosha, which will hopefully include an ultrasound and then wholla, we'll know the make & model! Tuesday the 10th I'll be 19 weeks (that does not look comfortable at ALL)...which is what, 4 1/2 months?

Greg is totally enjoying his job. He found out the other day one of the sons is good friends (high school buddies) with Vince Vaughn. Apparently he'll stroll into the warehouse into the break room looking for Brain at random times. Pretty cool. He is not enjoying bachelorhood during the week tho. I am staying busy up in BD with my multiple jobs. They are giving me lots of hours at Dos, keeping me out of trouble...but sometimes tiring.

No job yet down by Greg...I look everyday online, but seeing as I'm not a nurse, my options are limited. If only I liked needles and wounds. Yuck. But hopefully something happens soon so we can have a normal life again. I did send an application to this one place that makes chocolate...last year someone fell in a vat of it and now this past week some dumb lady stuck her hand in something with a mixer, which she thought was off, and took off her hand. Apparently safety is not at the front of their agenda. Luckily, they have not called me yet.

I'm ready for a change in the weather...it's been around the freezing mark for the last week...and windy, chilly windy. I'm surprised the lake hasn't froze over again! Ha! Some ding-a-lings at work were saying tonight it's possible for a foot of snow monday or tuesday. What in dang blasted is that?!?! It's a week into April, the first day of summer is only 2 months and 2 weeks away...what happened to global warming? Duh!

Happy Easter...may lots of solid milk chocolate bunnies come your way...and mine! :)

Oopsie Daisy

Yes, it's been a month. I've been busy! And right now? I'm in California!

I have been working 3 jobs, 3 part-time jobs around Beaver-land...so they are keeping me busy. Greg is enjoying his job...had an evening out with co-workers already and is part of a softball team. (For all the time in Savannah, never had drinks with co-workers or heard softball team uttered out of anyone!) He is living during the week in an apartment in Kenosha (works in Waukegan, IL) and comes to BD on the weekend. I'm living in the house, waiting patiently for it yet to sell. There has been some good activity with the weather warming up, so keep your fingers crossed.

So Tricia, Taylor and I got to Cali yesterday and were stunned by the gorgeousity of our nephew/cousin. He is so adorable...very happy and crawling around like crazy. Still won't eat tho...has been eating baby food tho. My mom and dad come tomorrow night...Charles had a work trip to India, so the cavalry has been called in.

Right now Sara & Saul are napping and Tricia and Taylor deserted me. I think they must've went to the park. Then we'll maybe go bumming for a bit...and then off to the zoo and who knows what else.

Oh yes, our move home was fine...no flat tires or crazy wind. It was a bit windy when we left Savannah, but nothing like when we moved down. I have a few pictures...have to wait 'til I get back to W-I.

Hmmm, wonder if I'll be able to see the Badger game today...I better check on the time and all that jazz...but doubt I'll see it. oh well...I'll catch the next one! :) Go Badgers!

Later everyone.

Got to see the dancing baby today! Of course it's adorable! ;)

Nocturnal Feedings

It's 1:55am and I am up eating a bowl of fruit loops. It's my 2nd nocturnal feeding so far. Greg has a stellar cold...hopefully he keeps that to himself.

Moving plans...Greg's brother Brett is coming to help, yay Brett! He'll be here on the 16th...we pick up the moving truck the 17th...load that up and stay one more night and head back to W-I on the 18th. So we should be in BD in time for Mardi Gras...the 20th.

I have a doc appt tomorrow...just the basic check-up I guess?

I got a ton of boxes from the grocery store, so our place smells like a produce/cardboard farm now. Delicious. Ick.

Okay, time to try and go back to bed. Zonk...ZZzzzZZzzzzz

Public Service Announcement

Remember those back in the day? Ahhh, memories.

Sorry about the delay...there's been a few things going on that I didn't want to spill the beans on!

Anyways, the cats out of the bag...Greg's in Wisconsin this weekend (freezing his tail off I'm sure!) and there's lots to report. Which first, good news, or good news?

1)

Yup, we did that!!!! There's a little human being in there...with a heart beat and movement! (if you click on the picture it will open up to a larger version) We're due September 4th, (I'll be 10 weeks on the 6th). I feel great...no morning sickness or anything of the sort. I do get hungry ALL THE TIME and if I get too hungry I get a little queasy, but I've been like that all of my life...it just happens more often now on a regular basis. On the 16th I get to have another ultrasound for something the Tech is doing for a class...so it's free and we'll get to see more! Yay! Can't pass up that opportunity.

2) this and this

Get it? Well, Greg, as of friday, got a new job! We're coming home!!! In 3 weeks!!!

So far, Greg is going to be a supervisor at Uline in Waukegan, Illinois with excellent insurance and a nice little raise. Although not too thrilled about the Illinois part, it's only 2 hours from Beaver Dam...5 minutes from Great America...45 minutes to Chicago...25 minutes across the border. I will most likely be staying in BD until the house sells. And then, hopefully we'll have figured out where we will establish home base. So now we'll be packing like crazy, putting in our 2 weeks notice and heading back the week of the 19th. Not sure exactly when, but Greg starts Feb. 26th.

So has everyone recovered from the news? Good. That's all I've got for now. I'll probably be scarce for the next couple weeks being busy with the packing. I'll post the new ultrasound pics when I can!

See most of ya'll in 3 weeks!!!

Digital Short

Here is one from Saturday Night Live...may not be appropriate for young-in's, but if you can laugh at anything, give it a whirl. Teehee!!!

Let's see some pictures!

We'll start with our journey to North Carolina Christmas weekend...
We found another Sutton Rd!

We stopped in Charlotte for lunch (not the best food, but interesting sites) and found our way to the race track!

Charlotte Motor Speedway...on turn 4, the bank was huge!

Home stretch!

Sweet burnies!

And then we made it to Lambeth's house in Winston/Salem. It was a fun weekend and we had a great time! We got there saturday, went out for mexican...sunday was christmas eve and we putz'd around, saw Old Salem (very old) and then had supper at their house with the families. Then we hung out in the basement and got silly with the kareoka machine and camera.

Perry (son), Edith (gramma), Kathy (sister), Kim (host) Everyone celebrating Christmas at the Lambeth's

Kate, Perry, Savannah (Perry's girl), Edith, Kashemi (hostess), Kim, Kathy, Guy (Kathy's hubby)

Monday we had breakfast at Kashemi's parents and then headed off on the longest drive ever.

The home of the Durham Bull's

It was a rainy day at the Bull Durham field

We eventually made it home (not without a stop at the Waffle House for our Christmas lunch!) and anticipated the arrival of my family on the 28th. They did show up and we ate and ate and ate and ate. It's the best thing about Savannah, all the food! :) We went to Cosentino's, Crab Shack, Pirates House, Jalepeno's, Augie's...I can't even remember it all! But everyone had a good time, i think, and we celebrated the New Year's down at City Market. The weather was so warm and don't forget the humidity!

Working Like A Dog

This morning I went to pick up Porter from the kennel and then he came to work with me! He enjoyed watching all the people and all the attention he got (although it wasn't a lot 'cause we're not busy at all...) And that's his femmy christmas bandana courtesy of the kennel.
So here he is, hard at it, helping momma with inventory!

A New Ocean

I don't know about ya'll, but I love, love, love the Ocean's 11 movies...and here, my dears, is the trailer for Ocean's 13 coming June 8th. I hope that works. Yum.

We decided to go to North Carolina for the Holiday Weekend. Very excited for some new scenery. Porter will be staying at the spa resort getting a bubble bath and pedicure!

Oooh, pictures, let me see if I can find some recent stuff...

Here is our christmas tree (REAL!)

and my ornament series of houses and shops and village things on the mantel....mantels.

Here is work...this is the beautiful display I made for the season...if you look real hard you can see my purple present hiding behind them.

This right here is what I stare out of alllll day. The front windows looking onto Wright Square and the Court House (one of them anyways.) But I do see a lot thru these windows and know when all the tourists are in town.

And this is the counter I stand behind alllllll day looking out the windows.

Merry Christmas!

It's almost here! And it's 80 degrees in Savannah! What the? I think it's even too warm for us to get festive and jolly!

We're trying to decide what to do with the holiday weekend...stay here by ourselves or else our neighbors (Kim & Kashemi) invited us up to their "permanent" home in North Carolina...it's only 5 hours away and will really put us in the holiday spirit I think. An 18 hour drive is out of the question...sorry!

What else has been going on...we got to know our neighbor Keith very well the last few weeks. He's in and out also, from up east and is going back there. This place is a "vacation home" for him and he just got a new job in Boston. He's our age and is a great person to know in this town, connections galore! We also met Andrew who works at Jere's Antique shop up by river street. That's the place with the huge antique back bars for $4000. Maybe he'll give us a deal, teehee!

Our computer is acting up again. If anyone can offer advice...right now it's asking for the username and password for XP...huh? So we're at a stand still once again. Oh well.

Time's up, have to "work"!
