I sucked my thumb today!

I drive by this place all the time and just realized today with Sara the name and how HILARIOUS it is. If Paris Hilton ever gets sick of her dogs (which happens probably 5 minutes after she BUYS them from a puppy mill,) I'm sure this place would take them. And no, I have never nor will ever eat here. Might have to try the $2.99 margarita tho...or not.

One Week Old

We made it one whole week! Plus some as of today.

But Daddy had to go back to work on monday, so here we are after he came home. I think they missed each other.

Yesterday Jake was lounging out on the bed. Yes, he really does have those long skinny legs. Just like Mommy back in her heyday. Hopefully that means he'll be really fast...around the ball diamond or the 400 meter oval.

Here we are on Friday after our first bath at home. We made it through with no man left behind. Of course we didn't get any during the bath shots, we needed practice first.

Aunt Sara made it here to WI safe and sound although a bit delayed. Nothing major, just a long day. She and Jake hit it off instantly. (Never mind the unmade bed, I was waiting for some man power to lift the mattress up to change the bed skirt!)
What else. Ooh, we had tummy time and Jake turned his back and forth a couple times...he's a very strong little man and I now know why my innards hurt after he was done with his kickboxing workout!
That's it for now...nothing too exciting happening since his surprise arrival!

The Story of My Birth

As Told by My Mommy

I don't know who's decision it was, his or the doctors, but it was time to come into the world! Here's a recap of the weekend, because I think it all ties in together. :) One of these things did something to speed things up.

Thursday August 16th...if you recall I was ready to get some things done. I did go out and go thru the stuff in the garage. I can't remember if I did things in the house. I think I did put his stuff in his diaper bag, but that was about it. I also got things together for our trip to BD. So some say I may have really been nesting, supposedly something soon-to-be-new-mommies do.

Friday August 17th...we headed down to Beaver Dam. I did a few things at the house, Greg did a bunch of stuff and I went and sat around at my parents doing nothing. Then eventually Greg came with a couple loads of stuff and we went and finished removing garbage and what not out. We had a delicious lunch at the bowling alley made by Binkey, yummmers. Then we went off to the realtor's office to close on the house! YAHOO! Needless to say, the lady representing the buyers mortgage company (I won't say who their loan is from, but I hope things work out for them) was a complete ding dong. She didn't know who got the earnest money, we were running a hour late...it was horrible. After that, Greg took the car for an oil change and I went to sit around some more.

Friday night, big night at the fair! We picked up Tony & Tricia (Taylor went to her cousins house to watch High School Musical 2) and headed out for some fun. We were able to see lots of people (that we wanted to see) and catch up on things and had a great time. Tony, Tricia and I headed in to watch Alice Cooper and were about 10 feet from the stage. It was AWESOME! It was way better than Poison, it was almost better then Summerfest, but I won't go that far. For the money (oh yeah, we got in free thanks to family) it was hands down the best. It was a SHOW, not just Alice singing some songs, talking about some new show of his or doing a bunch of covers...it was HIS Show, HIS Theatrics, HIS Daughter? Yes, Calico even had a bit. Awesome. And I was very excited I knew a lot of the songs. I think when I was little and my brother lived at home yet, I must've learned all this 70's & 80's rock subliminally through him. After the show we regrouped and headed for the Legion Beer Tent. There was a lot of people there, there was a lot of people everywhere. Eventually the fair closed down at midnight and we went home. Well, except for Greg and Randy.

Saturday August 18th...what did we do all day...huh...Oh yeah, we didn't get moving until 11 and then went to lunch with Randy while Shelley was at a shower. We dropped Randy off at Kohl's so he could get some warmer clothes and we went home and...sat around some more I think! Eventually Mike & Christine came and the 6 (Randy & Shelley too) of us headed over to Kekoskee to Diann's house. We watched the first half of the Packer game, I mean massacre and then headed back to BD. Oh yes, it was raining ALLLLL day too. We tried to go to the fair, go there about 9:00 and it was closed down! They cancelled the show, all the food stands were locked up, but the Legion tent was open! Needless to say we headed to town and went to Morry's. I had a Grape soda. Got to see more people, whom I have all lied to..."how much longer do you have to go?" "A couple weeks!" Oops. Sorry about that everyone! After that fiasco we headed back to my parents house, but not without a stop at Taco Bell. Oh dear. So then we had Taco Bell and cookies while laughing our bums off. I was laughing so hard I was crying. And then we all slept.

Sunday August 19th...we all woke up to cinnamon rolls...I was up early as usual, sleeping just wasn't my thing I guess. Mike & Christine left to go see his dad (who wasn't home) and we got ready and headed off to Madison. We went to the West Sieedde, stopping at the mall and finding the new Super Target. Super sure...it's not that wonderful. The only difference between that and a Greatland is more groceries. We got some staples for going to the movies and of course some baby staples! Diapers, Diaper Genie Bags and a onesie. I think that's it. So then off to the movie we went. We went and saw Super Bad which was Super Hilarious! I highly recommend it for your viewing pleasure. After the movie we went to Mike & Christine's and then head to the new Buffalo Wild Wings on Monona, in Monona, whatever, in Madison. We had an excellent time and then headed back to Beaver Dam. Now is where the fun begins.

We got home between 8 and 9 and were just sitting around watching tv. Greg was pretty much sacked out in the recliner and I was reclined on the couch and my parents were sitting around too. I had just thought about getting up and going to the bathroom when I coughed. Oh my gosh, I pee'd my pants. So off to the bathroom I trotted. Except, it wasn't pee...it was blood. And if everyone has done their research, blood isn't good with my condition. So I go get Greg and show him and get everyone freaked out. I ended up calling the doctors office and the doctor on call (not my regular doctor) called me back. He said if it stops in the next hour it's okay, but if not, we need to come in. So then the decision of do we go back to Kenosha? Do we make it back to Kenosha? I finally decide to get back to Kenosha. So off we went in the pouring rain. I gave Angie a call and asked her about Braxton Hicks. Thor was very active during this drive home too...so I thought the "pains" I was having was just him moving around in conjuncture with the Hicks.

We made it home around 12:45 after a long, rainy drive. (We had left Porter and the Durango at my parents.) I had a little blood, but nothing much...so Greg tried to relax for a bit and fell asleep and I got some sleep too. About 3:45 I woke up and went to the bathroom and I actually got to wake Greg up and say "I think we need to go in". I was very excited about that part...I was a little bummed with the whole scheduled c-section issue that we wouldn't get to experience any of that fun stuff. So off we went to the hospital! Luckily I had packed a few things for Thor and had some idea of what I wanted and all of our toiletry stuff was packed up from being in BD all weekend, so that was kind-of convenient!

We parked the car and walked into the ER. We were greeted by a security fella and said we're checking in. I gave the "receptionist" my name and issue and a nurse brought out a wheelchair and off we went to the 4th floor...The Birthing Inn. There we were greeted by about 3 nurses and taken to a room. I got on the gown and the nurse strapped on the monitors. Come to find out I was actually having contractions! They were 2-4 minutes apart. Huh, how 'bout that!?! So over the phone the doctor (the one still on call) said to hook up an IV and try to slow them down, which they did slow down. So I laid there in and out of sleep from 4am until 8am. They teased me with thoughts of a possibly breakfast after the doctor came in. Dr. Atcha was coming in at 8 and would check up on me then.

Monday August 20th...8:15a.m. Dr. Atcha came in, did an ultrasound and found that there was blood flow in the placenta. He said there is no mad dash, but I wasn't going home and we would be having the baby today. So I said, is there time to make a few phone calls? And the nurse said yes. So just as Greg walked off, I got 2 phone calls in, and he got out to the car to grab his phone and the bags, about 5 nurses came flooding in the room. Someone drew blood, the anesthesiologist, surgery room nurse, and 2 others were in there I think. It was kind of a blur. The "no mad dash" turned into "holy crap, where's Greg?!?!" They paged him and I finally got ahold of him. By the time he got back in the room I was already wheeled down to the operating room and numb from the chest down. He got back to the room and the nurse was waiting for him, grabbed the bags and threw the scrubs at him.

So I was in the O.R. at about 9 I'd say, they got me prepped, brought in Greg and Thor came out wailing to the world at 9:21 a.m. From incision to screaming lasted about 5 minutes. It was amazing. Except for the whole part that my body was thrown around like a rag doll...it was pretty interesting. There was a curtain, so Greg and I couldn't see anything. Thank goodness!

The nurse took Thor and cleaned him up a little bit, they showed him to me for about 20 seconds and then she took Greg and off they went to do the measuring and figuring while they did whatever they did to me. I have staples, which are coming out on Monday. It's rather bizarre. By 9:45 I'd say at the latest I was wheeled down to our room where I stayed the next 4 days. He got raving scores on his apgar tests, nice and pink!

7lbs 1oz, 19.5"

I was told I looked like a character from the Simpson's with my yellow tone of skin...I must agree, I do!

We came home on Thursday, August 23rd. He sleeps and pee's a lot. It's super. :) And Porter digs his baby brother.

Inconclusive

Verdict of the ultrasound today: "inconclusive". Someones HEAD was in the way so they couldn't see anything. Yeah, he's heading down "the tunnel". The tech wasn't very "ohh, here's your cute baby" friendly, so we really didn't see much (my mom came along.) She did let us hear & see the heartbeat which was on fire today, 148! He is busy! So no pictures or anything. No size, nothing. But according to our rocket science calculations, he should be around 6lb 8oz right now if he's doing the right thing and gaining an ounce a day like the books say he should be.

I go to the doctor monday (Greg too!) so I guess now we wait and see what happens there. I really hope I don't get a phone call during Alice Cooper!

Towards the end, apparently women go thru this nesting phase. I have a list in my head and think of things to do all the time to get prepared (set up the pack-n-play, put together the stroller, pack for the hospital) but that all seems like a lot of work. Now tho, after hearing this inconclusive, he's on his way verdict today, I think I have the freaking out nesting phase...like crap, are we going earlier then we think? I haven't even made the nurses their cookies yet!

Well, here's 37 weeks of pure baby.

And I saw this coming back to Kenosha last saturday (the 11th) in the wee hours of the morning outside of St. Lawerence. There was about 10 balloons, it was pretty cool.

This weekend is the big fair! We go to BD in the a.m. tomorrow and finish getting things out of the house. The closing is at 2 and then we're free, free, free!!! Oh wait, oil change, thhhennnn we're free, free, free!

Somebody is dancing a jig.

Time for nervous nesting!

Doc Appt, nothing exciting

I'll be chiggered, look who's going to be on the big screen!!! That is exciting stuff! Maybe if they wait 18 years or so, our Thor can be the star.

I had my doctor appointment Friday. Nothing exciting there. I get to have ultrasound number seven Thursday to check things out again and then I go to the Doc (my normal guy, yay!) on Monday the 20th. They wanted the ultrasound done before my appointment to make sure he saw the results and get things scheduled if need be. Well, I hope we can schedule this thing soon! I mean get it scheduled soon, not get it done soon...although getting it done soon would be nice. I'm to the point of 90% uncomfortableness during the day and night. Tired. Hot. Lazy. Like right now I'm hungry, but I'm too lazy to make anything. Oooh, bowl of cereal sounds good. I thought about going and lounging in the pool, but that would require walking 30 yards. I did work 8 hours today, so that doesn't help. Maybe tomorrow after a good nights sleep. :)

So I'll whip myself up a bowl of cereal and watch Miss Potter, hopefully without falling asleep. I think Zodiac is here too and an Evening with Kevin Smith #2.

36 weeks

Here we are, large and in charge... And this is last night...notice the obscure shape...yeah, that's what he does...allllll night. "I swing my bum over here, no maybe over here, how 'bout my feets over here...no wait, let me flail my arms around too, yeah baby, can't get enough of that!"

3-4 weeks to go!

I had a nasty cold the last week...sunday was the climax and I've been getting better each day since. Can't wait for it to go away.

I think I can officially post this now, things have been rolling along smoothly and we haven't had any hiccups...the house, is SOLD! We close on Aug 17th. Everybody join me in a happy dance! We'll be in BD the next couple weekends for sure, moving things out this weekend and then closing (and of course Alice Cooper) the next weekend.

Time to get myself together...a nice long 8 hour shift at the target today. ugh. I can't wait for school to start...school supplies suck. Do you know some kids have to buy 10 glue sticks? Regular old glue doesn't cut it anymore. And they have to bring THREE boxes of kleenex. And they came up with this new invention, book covers made of stretchy fabric. Brown paper bags don't cut it anymore I guess. Where do you doodle during class now? Lame. I hope I remember how to make bag covers when the time comes.

Vent of the Day:

PLEASE, if you use one of those shopping baskets, UNLOAD IT! You loaded it up, you can unload it. Especially when your cashier is 9 months pregnant. If you don't, don't be mad at me when I tip it on the side and spew it's contents all over the belt...and not care how things are bagged. Hee! You don't see people making me unload their cart do you?

It's still a boy

Just got done with the ultrasound. The pics aren't that great, but I got to see his mouth moving, his manhood, heart beating and all the activity in there! He's 5lbs 10oz right now (which I think is right on target), heart rate was 135 today. The placenta is still in the way. It sounds like there will be one more ultrasound when we get closer to the due date to check the exact location. At least that's what I got out of the conversation.

Here's his face, this does not do him justice!

And his pudgy foot and leg...the foot is at the top.

35 weeks

35 weeks. I'm tired. Stretched out. Uncomfortable. If only Thor's bum would move out of my ribcage, just for a minute or two, that's all I ask.

Doc appointment was fine. I'm glad I got the doctor I did, this one didn't impress me as much (mines on a 3-week hiatus of some sort). I have another ultrasound thursday afternoon to see where things are. Gained 1 pound in the last 2 weeks (total of about 18lbs so far). Thor's heart rate was at 144. Now I start going in every week, starting next week friday. (Harder to get in when you actually have a work schedule to follow!) I have to see the other doc one more time, then my guy will be back, thank goodness.

Here we are, taken just moments ago...

Monday, Mom, Dad and Taylor came down for a visit...we went to the Jelly Belly Factory right down the road for a tour. Although it wasn't much of a tour, more of an informational drive around the warehouse. But the store is fun and Taylor had a good time. Then we went swimming at the compound pool for a little bit, saw a toddler pee herself (luckily outside of the pool, aren't they supposed to be wearing those 'lil swimmers or something? ) and Taylor went underwater!

So now I have a rhetorical question/rant...I really don't want an answer to this, but what in the world do people do in public bathrooms? Does everyone get "browsers poo" at the same time? And why does it look like people step on toilets? Are women this nuts? Is it unsupervised children? Here's a good one, some MOTHER had her kid CRAWL on the floor of this PUBLIC bathroom under the stall door to come in her stall. I can't go into more detail, but sometimes when I go to the bathroom at the Target, I want to vomit. And the bathroom gets cleaned hourly. How hard is it to go in there, do your duty, keep your area tidy, wash up and leave?

So another question for you veteran mommies and daddies out there, what do we pack for the hospital!??!!? I have no clue...I know we want one empty bag to fill up with goodies. Please leave comments! (At the end of this post, click on "comments" and you'll be able to leave your 2 cents.)

Can we start the countdown?

34 weeks done, 6 to go...today tho, technically 5 and a half. Or we could even say 4 and a half if things stay the way they were/are. Or if they move, who knows how much longer this could go on! Things are popping out, waddling is occurring and living in the right side ribcage is still in effect. Which I guess is good for the bathroom aspect, I don't normally get up during the night...I can make it to the wee hours of the morning (hahaa, wee hours!)

And if you can handle it, this is what I see when I look down. Ick.

Holy crap. (Just had a minor reality check.)

The other night I came home from work and putz'd around for awhile (you know, that after work "high", hunger and thirst?) And then I found this!

Someone fell asleep reading Harry Potter! Which is okay, 'cause I think that was the same day I did the same thing.

Doctor tuesday the 31st, ultrasound later that week. I think that's it for now!

Sorry, no goat eating shorts pictures...I gave him a stern talking to tho.

There's nothing like the smell...

...of Poison and cow shit!!!

We ended up going to the Fond du Lac County Fair (in the fine city of Fond du Lac) this weekend after the family reunion and seeing Poison in all their glory!!! It was so awesome. Thor enjoyed it immensely too, he was head banging and dancing all around. Ce Ce's (lead quitar, the short blond hair'd one) teeth are electric white and he's all tan, they glowed in the dark, it was hilarious! But man he can smooth talk the crap out of his geee-tar. Bret Michels was sure to promote his new show on VH1 and talked way too much. They did some covers, apparently their new album is covers (Def Leppard just did that too, what is the deal? No one can think of new lyrics these days?) Ohhh, and Ce Ce sang a song and it was horrible!!! The whole crowd was just standing there staring at him like "what the crap?" It was hilarious...but he got the pity clap. Bret changed his shirt 3 or 4 times. He sure does love himself! haha!

These opportunities is another reason to love it up here. Poison for $10, hand battered deep fried cheese curds, gyros, beer and cows all in one place. Oh yeah, and a goat that tried to eat my shorts.

33 weeks, the shower and stuff

Here we are at 33 weeks! Thor's been really living up to his name today...he lives in my ribs and I think he likes to stretch out and practice right hooks and kickboxing on whatever is near. A few of them have hurt tonight...it could've been all the excitement of breaking open the 1/2 pound Hershey bar from Niagara Falls I got from my niece. :)

The doctor appointment: super fine...gained 2 lbs in the last 3 weeks. We go back in 2 weeks and will get to meet another one of the doctors at the practice, which is good...if we go naturally it'll depend on which one of the four docs is on call who delivers. If we have to do the c-section, it'll be one week before the due date. I didn't get into specifics, as in picking the exact day tho...we'll wait and see what the next ultrasound will entail. That will be in the first week of August. That's about all I learned I guess. After this next appointment (July 31st) I get to start going every week! Oh boy.

The shower: awesome! A great turn-out and fabulous gifts all around! Here's just a small sampling. :) The diaper cake was so cool! And here I am with the delicious cake! It was marble with mint chocolate chip ice cream, good job Renee! Her neighbor made it who is actually opening a bakery in Beaver Dam towards the end of the summer.
There's more pictures out there...I'm waiting to see them myself! :) My battery died.

Lake Days: That was fun! I made it until bar time saturday night, can you believe it?!?! It was nice being outside at the park as long as we were...that kept me cool and comfy. Got to see some people, but it wasn't too obscene.

This weekend is the Sutton Family Reunion...we'll come to BD saturday and leave sunday morning (either Porter farted or there's a skunk in the neighborhood, yuck!) 'cause I have to work at the Target alllll day. I would like to wear a sign there too...the customers like to know when I'm due and what it is and is this your first? I saw a nurse there too that works in the baby ward where Thor will be born...she said that births are double this year as to last at this time! Holy smokes. She said hopefully it'll slow down when we come in...she's really hoping it does!

Ohhh, good news! We got a reasonable offer on the house! Yay! We're just waiting for some final word on one part and then it's good as done. Everyone keep their fingers crossed the next couple days!

Alright, I'm tired and I can't think anymore. I'm finally getting that baby brain or mommy brain, whatever it's called. Zoinks.

8 weeks (or less) to go!

Here we are at 32 weeks. I still fit in my own shirts even! huh.

Got a confirmation phone call from the doctor the other day...the placenta hasn't moved yet, I'll have 2 more ultrasounds between now and then and if it doesn't move we're looking at scheduling a c-section. I'm assuming this would be scheduled earlier than the due date as they do not let you go naturally with this due to bleeding. So I want to take a poll! Please leave a comment suggesting a date and the reason why! If it's for logistical reasoning or sharing a birthday reason, we'll take all into consideration. :)

I've started working at Target...last week was my first week, did I say this already? Apparently they're the only place in the world that doesn't care if you're pregnant when they hire you. It's been going well. I got to train in Food Avenue on monday...I didn't realize how good the dang food is there! The pretzels, the pizza, the popcorn! Fall of 2008 they have plans to open a new bigger store down the road and then that'll have that Starbucks Pizza Hut type food area that all the new ones have. I was trained there and at the service desk so I'd be available to cover breaks, but mainly I'm a cashier. I think if I want more hours I could sign up for those areas now too.

Greg turned 35 yesterday! I was attempting to make him one of his favorite meals, Baked Chop Suey, and apparently i was screwing up before I put the meat in the pan (brown hamburger first) so he took over, and made his own birthday meal. Oops. And being the hormonal nut-job I am, I got all depressed.

I'm currently waiting for the cable guy...he has 45 minutes to get here. Slacker.

Is everyone excited Harry Potter opened today? No clue when we'll get around to seeing it...when it comes out on video? Speaking of, we went to the video store for the first time in eons last night and there is crap for new releases out there. I subscribe to netflix, which I totally love and highly recommend! It's great for me because Greg would never rent all the chick flicks I want to see.

That's it! Have a good rest of the week. My shower is this weekend, yahoo!!!

Time flies when you're buildling a baby!

Here we are at 31 weeks. 31 weeks...I thought I'd never get past 30.

Oh dear, are those love handles? Go away!

It's the fourth...we didn't do much, went for a drive around some area towns, did some damage at the grocery store, ate, a lot. Pretty much a veggie day staying out of the heat. I worked 2 nights at the Target so far. Simple as a dimple if you ask me. I got to check out my first box of condoms last night, teehee! So hard not to giggle.

Oh my, I just saw Russia wins the 2014 Olympics. Was that the one Chicago was battling for? Oh, it's for the 2016 ones. So the summer ones. Who wants to go to Russia in the winter? Didn't these people watch Rocky 4?

We did get internet in our sweet apartment now, so I am hooked up. We have some adjustments to make yet, like getting a splitter so we don't have to unplug the tv or internet depending on what we're doing...and we really need more furniture...oh it's just glorious...hopefully in the next couple weeks we'll get everything set up...and then in the next few weeks after that, rearrange everything to fit Thor and his belongings. Whew!

So speaking of making the coaxial switch, it's that time. Nighty night!

30 weeks, Summerfest, Ultrasounds, Jobs, Wedding...

I could go on and on...but more important...Here's the precious bundle of joy on Friday (6/29). He has hair! Buzz cut currently, but possibly coming out ready for a mullet! 3lbs 8oz right now. He wasn't very cooperative either, he had both hands and a foot down around his face, so this is the best pic I guess. (Very flexible I must say.)

And here's his pudgy little hand. Heee!
And the whole reason we were there, the placenta thing...hasn't moved. The ultrasound tech pointed everything out to us (yes, Greg got to go for once, he was off for our summerfest fun) and it's just hanging over a little bit...enough for a c-section probably. But, it may still move yet...she said I'll probably have another u/s in 3 weeks or so. I did pass the 2nd glucose test. The doc said a lot of times women that fail the first one and go on to pass the 2nd one have bigger babies (the tech didn't have that happen tho!) So we'll see if that's right! What else did I learn...not much. Got a name for a pediatrician/family doctor so need to set that up. I go back in 3 weeks, July 17th. And then he said after that it will be every week...that seems like a lot to me, 7 weeks every week? I thought it was more of the last month is every week? Hmm. We'll see.

And here is me at 30 weeks...

A frontal shot, ew.

So what else has been going on. I did my orientation for Target! I start tomorrow night...whoohoo! At least it's something to do, and a 10% discount for me! Yay!

Mike & Christine's wedding was a blast. Good time had by all...here's a shot of how gorgeous we were. It was a little sunny of course, a little warm, but I did just fine, drank my water, danced like nobody was watching and enjoyed my updo.

Summerfest was a blast on friday. Styx and Foreigner rocked the house. Def Leppard was good too...except they go and cover a couple songs that are hideous. I don't remember the second one, but the first one is that stupid "hey, kids, rock and roll...jimmy dean sausage" garbage. Of course they lead into those 2 songs with a slow song. It was the perfect 15 minutes of sit down time for me. Yay! But they did play some more older tunes than last time, which was awesome. (We saw them about 2 years ago in Madison with Mike & Christine...they did the same thing with the covers too...and Tesla opened for them, which was eh.) But here's the only picture I took of the day...right when we were getting onto 94 from Kenosha (Brett & Diann were with us too) there was a little accident.

Yes, it was an Illinois driver, it was a Mercedes SUV and it was on its side. We didn't see any people by then or other vehicles, so one could only guess high speeds (typical Illinoisian) and erratic lane changing (again, typical Illinoisian). Learn yer lesson people!

So the weather was awesome at Summerfest, the food was delightful, fun was had by all.

Now we just came to BD for a bit to mow the lawn and grab some more stuff. Greg's doing a fine job mowing & trimming...I'm doing a find job of updating the world. We'll be back next weekend...I plan on coming friday and working at the shop and Greg will come up saturday. We'll both have haircuts and hang out and grab more stuff. And then the weekend of the 13th, watch out! Not only is it my shower, but it is also Lake Days, Burnett Fireman's picnic (softball tourney for Greg hopefully) and the bestest, a visit from Sara & Tarzan! So please plan accordingly. :)

Have a Happy 4th! Practice safety with your firecrackers!

2 months 2 weeks 2 days to go

That would be as of June 19th, 29 weeks. The fella I worked with in Savannah is due (his wife is due) August 19th...so when I told them I was pregnant too, I held out some books Angie sent me and said "I can't do it anymore, I'm 2 weeks and 2 days behind you!" They're having a girl, Stella. We're having a boy, Thor. :)

Here's 29 weeks

When I look down it looks like a big ball. It's so weird to see it from the side...it freaks me out a little bit! And I can still paint my toes! Although this weekend is Mike & Christine's wedding and I'm pampering myself with a pedicure and updo. Yay! I've got a new dress, new shoes and a man in a tux...what more does a girl need?

Haven't heard anything from the glucose test #2. They did 3 draws in the same area on my left arm...that hurt like crap! On the 3rd one it hurt when the guy just rubbed the alcohol pad on there! The 4th one I went in and threw out my right arm and said "let's use this one this time, I'll faint if we do the left again." So I'm assuming no news is good news so far. I have an appointment next wednesday (27th) so we'll know for sure. Then 2 weeks after that, another ultra sound.

Not much else going on. I'm just excited for the wedding...I think the last one I was at was ours. Oh no, there was another one that summer, but I think that's it until now. 3 years without a wedding!!?!? Wow. Oh wait, one of my cousins got married after us...but they didn't have a dance, so it's not the same. And Greg didn't go, work. Then next weekend is Def Leppard at Summerfest! yay! Sugarland is playing on another stage at 10pm, so maybe I can catch some of that too, although I'll be the only one that wants to see them I think. Everyone else will probably want to watch Blue Oyster Cult. Puuhleaze. I want to see Sugarland in person so bad...and seeing as I'm the pregnant one, I think I win.

What's after that...4th of July. That'll be weird having it in the middle of the week. Nothing big planned...just going to the annual party in Fort Atkinson at Uncle Bill & Aunt Lorna's.

Until week 30, with wedding pictures too, toodles.

27 weeks

Here's the tum-tum at 27 weeks.

Thor's very active in there...I can watch him roll around and push out and do whatever he's doing in there. He gets the hiccups often, but luckily they don't last long...at least I think it's the hiccups!

Not much going on this week. or the past few days. ready for the warm weather to kick in and rain to stop!

Off to the races!

The Chewy Spree Incident

I lived this story on saturday the 2nd and re-told it to Angie to cheer her up today. It's too funny I think not to share with the world.

So I'm driving to Kenosha and stop at that gas station in Allenton and get a tootsie roll and oooh, chewy sprees! I woof down the tootsie roll (what is that anyways besides delicious goodness?) and then I'm snacking on the sprees. I'm about 2/3 done with the little bag and all of the sudden I start minorly choking on some chewy spree juice or something...you know how they have a little pucker to them? I'm like okay, take a drink of water, felt okay for a second and then start coughing again and WHAM...it comes back UP! So I have a mouthful of puke flavored chewy spree water and am going 73 mph down Hwy 45 or 894 or wherever I am at the moment...luckily there wasn't too much traffic around me...I'm looking around, what to do, what to do!!! I'm in the middle lane, there's too many cars in the right lane to veer over and stop...so I go over into the left lane, roll down the window and spit it out!!! Needless to say some landed on the door frame there...and some had snuck out onto the steering wheel and seat before i caught my mouth. Nothing too major. Luckily I found a Dairy Queen napkin to wipe up all that. Eegads!

I finished the chewy sprees today without incident. :)

He's a keeper!

As I sit here shoving my face full of chocolate chip cookies, my 2+ pound alien thrashes around in my belly. If you know about the cookies, you understand the thrashing..."more mama, more!!!" So I dive into #3. They're small! I used the small scoop! Never too young for chocolate chip cookies!

Like I said, I had a doc appt yesterday...everything was fine, heartbeat was 154, the nurse was all excited...the doc said his head is down, but things can flip of course. Then he ordered another ultra sound so I had that today (31st). Pardon me, laundry beckons...no Angie, I didn't hang any on the line this time, it's dark out!

I had to drink 32 oz of water in an hour this morning, my bladder hasn't felt right since! I don't think I quit made it to 32, I felt like I was going to spring a leak! And wouldn't you know as I was leaving the hospital I saw the glorious sign for the bathroom (stop #2), but the DUDE was in there cleaning!!! Typical. Men. I got a couple pictures, I can only really tell what one of them is all about. I asked for a picture of the manhood to show Greg, but she couldn't do that. Is that considered kiddie porn or something? But Greg has only seen the first u/s blob in person, if I have another one, hopefully they work with me to schedule it at a good time. Anyways, here's Thor at a little over 2 pounds, 26 weeks 2 days:

You can see his cute little nose and lips, chin...the fish looking thing above him is his arm. If you look good you can see his eyes or eyelids...I saw his ribs and the bones in his arms...and his little heart beating away like crazy. And I think he's folded up like a pretzel. I thought it was his hinder sticking out on my right side, but it sounds like it's an elbow that he throws out. I don't know, I couldn't really follow the tech on his position. I know where the head is and that's about it.

And here, if you can handle it, is his house. I made Greg watch my belly move this weekend...I don't think he liked it. It freaks me out too. But I think there's a noticeable difference in that belly! Yikes!

I suppose that covers...OOOH, Sara and Saul are coming home in July for the shower! Charles is going fishing in Mexico for bullheads or something. AND somebody had an excellent weekend without his feeding tube! Yay!!!

Now I think I got it all!

I burned my cheesy rice!

Well, not totally, but it did get a little crunchy. Luckily I am a rice-a-roni whiz and was able to save it. Whew!

So here's 25 weeks in all its glory. I believe it grew from friday to saturday magically...it's amazing.

I'm starting to get rather itchy too. And notice that fine curve of the spine, almost time for a massage! I might go cash in the change for that...shhh, don't tell Greg. haha!

Not much going on in Beaverland. The weather is divine...3-day weekend coming up...

I go for my monthly check-up next week wednesday, so I'll post again after that.

I think I need a nap!

24 weeks

We're at 24! I've actually been able to see my belly/skin MOVING with Thor...like when he pushes out, I see it move and to be honest, it freaks the CRAP out of me!!! There's a freaking little human being in there, and it has to come out. Come out?!?! And it's alive?!?! Freaking incredible. I'm very gald I'm not an elephant tho, 2 years of this? How do they cope? I also think I'm starting to feel the hiccups. They don't last very long thank goodness. What else...I'm enjoying all the excellent clothes I got from my friends and sister. See, it does pay to be the last in line in some respects! Oh yes, I have two registries, Target & Babies-r-us. I'm sure there'll still be some tweeking here and there...I want Greg to put in his two cents on the stroller thingy I picked out and I'm sure something's missing. You know that feeling...like going on a road trip and having that gut wrenching feeling you left the iron on, but really you forgot your toothbrush and the $3 one out of the vending machine hurts your gums...something like that.

Okay, here's 24 weeks...(the shorts are a different color, but they're the same cut/style as the grey ones.)

And here's Porter after a long day of being outside on his own!

(And now he's drooling and ready to puke at any second, hence why I'm not fast asleep at this point. What did those little freaking neighbor kids feed him?)

Good night, I think it's safe now.

23 weeks

and holy crap, only 17 to go? If that? Eeek!

Here Thor is in all his glory...

There was a showing on the house tonight. I forgot to do one thing...fold up a blanket and place a pillow on the couch correctly. Booger snots, there goes the sale. I'm wondering if it was the same people that stalked the house on sunday and a few hours later, even came up and rang the doorbell. Needless to say a nap was in progress and their call was not answered. Disturb my nap, how rude.

I just had the most boring night at work. We stop serving food at 10, I didn't have a table since 8pm. 5 people came in at 9:55 tho! Sat at the bar...not my domain.

Nighty night!

Meet Riley, Thor & Tigger

Where to begin! It's been a fun couple weeks, lots of stuff going on.

First off, meet Riley Robert Okon...Born 4/28/07 around noon. 6lb 15oz, 21"...a little noodle! Everyone is doing splendidly and Tara is adjusting to being a mother of a boy!

Second off, meet Thor, God of Thunder...at least in my belly! Yup, it's a boy! A very active boy. And no doubt about either one per the ultrasound tech.

And here is the last two weeks:

21 weeks

22 weeks

I freak out each time I see my profile in the mirror...where did that come from!!?!? Although I think I've only gained 8 pounds or so overall. So far. The best is yet to come! Last week (5/2) I had another appt because I'm a new patient and when checking the heart rate, he had the hiccups! I couldn't feel it (whew), but it was fun to hear.

Have to get prepared to buy some Def Leppard along with special guests Foreigner and Styx tickets. They're going to be at Summerfest. Should be a good time. I have 23 minutes! And I need a shower, but waiting for the towels to dry. Whoopee! And then going with Mom to a green house...add some curb appeal with a pot of flowers or something.

Oh my gosh, yesterday I had garage sale FEVER! I went to Lake Mills by Angie for their city wide sale and I did a little damage. Got Thor some excellent clothing...lots of new stuff even. Yay! I also found one of those bouncy vibrating chairs and a bouncing Tigger...Porter likes that!

Off to the towels! Happy weekend!
