Nocturnal Feedings

It's 1:55am and I am up eating a bowl of fruit loops. It's my 2nd nocturnal feeding so far. Greg has a stellar cold...hopefully he keeps that to himself.

Moving plans...Greg's brother Brett is coming to help, yay Brett! He'll be here on the 16th...we pick up the moving truck the 17th...load that up and stay one more night and head back to W-I on the 18th. So we should be in BD in time for Mardi Gras...the 20th.

I have a doc appt tomorrow...just the basic check-up I guess?

I got a ton of boxes from the grocery store, so our place smells like a produce/cardboard farm now. Delicious. Ick.

Okay, time to try and go back to bed. Zonk...ZZzzzZZzzzzz

Public Service Announcement

Remember those back in the day? Ahhh, memories.

Sorry about the delay...there's been a few things going on that I didn't want to spill the beans on!

Anyways, the cats out of the bag...Greg's in Wisconsin this weekend (freezing his tail off I'm sure!) and there's lots to report. Which first, good news, or good news?

1)

Yup, we did that!!!! There's a little human being in there...with a heart beat and movement! (if you click on the picture it will open up to a larger version) We're due September 4th, (I'll be 10 weeks on the 6th). I feel great...no morning sickness or anything of the sort. I do get hungry ALL THE TIME and if I get too hungry I get a little queasy, but I've been like that all of my life...it just happens more often now on a regular basis. On the 16th I get to have another ultrasound for something the Tech is doing for a class...so it's free and we'll get to see more! Yay! Can't pass up that opportunity.

2) this and this

Get it? Well, Greg, as of friday, got a new job! We're coming home!!! In 3 weeks!!!

So far, Greg is going to be a supervisor at Uline in Waukegan, Illinois with excellent insurance and a nice little raise. Although not too thrilled about the Illinois part, it's only 2 hours from Beaver Dam...5 minutes from Great America...45 minutes to Chicago...25 minutes across the border. I will most likely be staying in BD until the house sells. And then, hopefully we'll have figured out where we will establish home base. So now we'll be packing like crazy, putting in our 2 weeks notice and heading back the week of the 19th. Not sure exactly when, but Greg starts Feb. 26th.

So has everyone recovered from the news? Good. That's all I've got for now. I'll probably be scarce for the next couple weeks being busy with the packing. I'll post the new ultrasound pics when I can!

See most of ya'll in 3 weeks!!!

Digital Short

Here is one from Saturday Night Live...may not be appropriate for young-in's, but if you can laugh at anything, give it a whirl. Teehee!!!

Let's see some pictures!

We'll start with our journey to North Carolina Christmas weekend...
We found another Sutton Rd!

We stopped in Charlotte for lunch (not the best food, but interesting sites) and found our way to the race track!

Charlotte Motor Speedway...on turn 4, the bank was huge!

Home stretch!

Sweet burnies!

And then we made it to Lambeth's house in Winston/Salem. It was a fun weekend and we had a great time! We got there saturday, went out for mexican...sunday was christmas eve and we putz'd around, saw Old Salem (very old) and then had supper at their house with the families. Then we hung out in the basement and got silly with the kareoka machine and camera.

Perry (son), Edith (gramma), Kathy (sister), Kim (host) Everyone celebrating Christmas at the Lambeth's

Kate, Perry, Savannah (Perry's girl), Edith, Kashemi (hostess), Kim, Kathy, Guy (Kathy's hubby)

Monday we had breakfast at Kashemi's parents and then headed off on the longest drive ever.

The home of the Durham Bull's

It was a rainy day at the Bull Durham field

We eventually made it home (not without a stop at the Waffle House for our Christmas lunch!) and anticipated the arrival of my family on the 28th. They did show up and we ate and ate and ate and ate. It's the best thing about Savannah, all the food! :) We went to Cosentino's, Crab Shack, Pirates House, Jalepeno's, Augie's...I can't even remember it all! But everyone had a good time, i think, and we celebrated the New Year's down at City Market. The weather was so warm and don't forget the humidity!

Working Like A Dog

This morning I went to pick up Porter from the kennel and then he came to work with me! He enjoyed watching all the people and all the attention he got (although it wasn't a lot 'cause we're not busy at all...) And that's his femmy christmas bandana courtesy of the kennel.
So here he is, hard at it, helping momma with inventory!

A New Ocean

I don't know about ya'll, but I love, love, love the Ocean's 11 movies...and here, my dears, is the trailer for Ocean's 13 coming June 8th. I hope that works. Yum.

We decided to go to North Carolina for the Holiday Weekend. Very excited for some new scenery. Porter will be staying at the spa resort getting a bubble bath and pedicure!

Oooh, pictures, let me see if I can find some recent stuff...

Here is our christmas tree (REAL!)

and my ornament series of houses and shops and village things on the mantel....mantels.

Here is work...this is the beautiful display I made for the season...if you look real hard you can see my purple present hiding behind them.

This right here is what I stare out of alllll day. The front windows looking onto Wright Square and the Court House (one of them anyways.) But I do see a lot thru these windows and know when all the tourists are in town.

And this is the counter I stand behind alllllll day looking out the windows.

Merry Christmas!

It's almost here! And it's 80 degrees in Savannah! What the? I think it's even too warm for us to get festive and jolly!

We're trying to decide what to do with the holiday weekend...stay here by ourselves or else our neighbors (Kim & Kashemi) invited us up to their "permanent" home in North Carolina...it's only 5 hours away and will really put us in the holiday spirit I think. An 18 hour drive is out of the question...sorry!

What else has been going on...we got to know our neighbor Keith very well the last few weeks. He's in and out also, from up east and is going back there. This place is a "vacation home" for him and he just got a new job in Boston. He's our age and is a great person to know in this town, connections galore! We also met Andrew who works at Jere's Antique shop up by river street. That's the place with the huge antique back bars for $4000. Maybe he'll give us a deal, teehee!

Our computer is acting up again. If anyone can offer advice...right now it's asking for the username and password for XP...huh? So we're at a stand still once again. Oh well.

Time's up, have to "work"!

o tannenbaum o tannenbaum

my how lovely you are. We got our tree last weekend and it's all decorated and beautiful. Pictures to come. Also put out all my house ornaments and they take up both shelves above the fire place...whew! We also got some hanging poinsettas for out front and they are glorious! I still have some finishing touches to do out there.

I bought a 7 pound bag of chocolate chips! It's freaking awesome! With a ziploc top of course.

This weekend, oh boy, it's going to be exciting! Greg scored us some tickets to the Jacksonville/Colts game on sunday. Sweet! I will U-Rah-Rah for the Colts i think. But I think we're going to head out early and actually tail gate WITH the delicious Grampa Rechek Brats I brought back with me. I'm so excited. I think Greg should wear his Favre jersey, teehee!

Okay, I have to go back to work!

Whew

I did it...I got the computer fixed! I think...as best as possible? All thanks to Neil for the tremendous assistance! I think there are still some kinks to get fixed, but it's been running sublime this evening!

The rest of my stay in Beaverland was great! I forgot where I stopped off...tuesday? Tuesday night was dinner at Snapper Vick's with Nicki and Lisa...Tami showed up after and then her brother and then Jason. We had an excellent time, except for sick Nicki...hope you're feeling better!

Wednesday...oh yes, I posted a baby picture! She's adorable...everyone's home and she's a poop machine! (see beginning of Jay & Bob Strike's Back) I also had some Rocky's for lunch that day with Neil and Tara...then to Fort. Home again after the baby viewing and then a fun night out! Dos for dinner with Mike, Christine, Randy and Shelley...and Renee for a little while. Then we went out where I think we may have been the oldest ones there except for that crazy bearded feller. Teehee! It was fun, saw a lot of my track kids from back in the day, my how they grow!

Thursday...went and visited with Cindy for awhile where Hannah was a silly goose. Then up by Jane again to spread some christmas cheer and then later in the afternoon off to the Sutton's! Had an excellent meal of course!

Friday I ran some errands, went and saw the Okon's and that was about it! Back to reality!

We went and saw the new Bond movie...Greg really liked it...I thought it was good too. I've seen the old ones, but not many of the new ones. Oooh, and we got invited over to someone's house!!! Someone's actual house! We watched the Georgia game, but mostly ate food. It was fun.

Not much else going on...rained today so maybe the heat will go away. it's been in the upper 70's and a bit muggy. This weekend is "transform into Christmas" weekend!

Happy weekend!

troubles

I'm back in Georgia after an awesome trip...but now our computer has taken a total dump and I only have a short time at work to use the internet.

I got to see almost everyone I needed to see while I was home and had an excellent time while there. Turkey dinner was awesome at Brett's...why didn't I eat more!?! Haha!

Have a good week!

D-Day

I haven't heard from Angie yet, but there should be a new baby girl in the world right now!

I am having fun at home...got here saturday morning...got my hair cut, stopped by neice and brought her along with me for the day. We went to the bowling alley by Tara & Megan (Megan was there for a birthday party) and we bowled a game...then we had some food...headed to wal-mart where the girls acted like goofballs and made everyone smile. Saturday night Renee came over for her beauti control show...it was just me, Tara and my mom, but it was fun and we rushed her so we could all go to Heine's for pizza! Yay! After that Renee and I went out on the town (Tara too for awhile), but apparently no one else was out on the town 'cause we saw no one! But we had fun.

Sunday was shopping...the Roedl girls went to Mayfair mall and had fun. Sunday night just hung out with Mom and Dad.

Monday I had the offspring study thing in the a.m. That lasted until 11:30 or so...then I went to Pig and got a doughnut and did a little shopping. I made dessert for that night...picked up Taylor from school...and that night Dick, Elaine, Tony, Tricia and Taylor were there for a glorious supper...roast chicken, mashed taters, green bean casserole, corn, stuffing...and my dessert of course. Yum...Raspberry Dream Cheesecake...it's not as heavy as a regular cheesecake (not the exact recipe link, but you can search for what you like!) Then I was whisked out the door with Tricia to go and pick up a christmas present for Taylor in Madison. We stopped at East Town too and I accomplished one of my errands. Yay!

Now it's tuesday...went to Larson's for brekkies. Mom and I ran some errands...I got 5 packages of brats and a ring bologna to take with me from Rechek's, yum! We stopped at Freber's for a ring cleaning and watch batteries. Now mom's at church with Tricia, Dad's out looking for the lot line and I'm updating the world. After church we're going up by Jane and to Herberger's, who's having a sale...Herberger's, not Jane! Tonight is Snapper Vick's with some of the gals and tomorrow is baby viewing day! Yahoo!

Alright, I'm getting sleeping sitting in this comfortable chair...Happy Thanksgiving!

Who's more excited

A couple things happen in just a couple weeks...I come home and my dear friend Angie will give birth to her baby girl. Hmmm...

Another lousy Packer loss today...what were they thinking throwing a pass on the 1 yard line? Cripes. But the Badgers are kicking some more hiney and are ranked #16 right now.

We finally got to Mrs. Wilkes Boarding house for lunch while Mike & Christine were here. Oh man, was that good. The fried chicken is the best in the world! Rank that high on the to do list! Anyways, you saw our costumes, here's a couple more pictures from the beach...

Good times, good times.

Here is me last night, marking the first wearing of the scarf & mitties. I also have on a long sleeve shirt, short sleeve shirt, purple fleece and a sweatshirt. I was toasty warm. Greg, long sleeve shirt, short sleeve shirt and light leather jacket, not so warm...no scarf or mitties! Who's the girl scout!?!? :) Anyways, Tracy Byrd was playing down at River St during the seafood festival. We didn't sea-fest, but watched a little bit of the show. It was fun.

Not much else going on. Greg's hanging out with some boys right now, drowning their sorrows. I went to the library, how exciting! It's been cold all weekend, but mid-week it's supposed to get up in the 80's again. What crazy weather. Make up yer mind already! Okeedokee...time to see if there's anything that needs to get accomplished around the "condo". Happy November!

Delicious new treat

I don't know if I'm the inventor and need to take out a patent, but if you mush a caramel and a tootsie roll together, it is SUBLIME! Try it for yourself!

Let's see...let me post some pictures, I've been slacking.

Here's Greg's Mom while she was out here...we went out to Tybee to The Breakfast Club and her and I went to tip our toes in the ocean. It was hot out.

These are some people we watch the Packer Games with...farthest away is Brad who works on boats and is from Door County. Next is George who got Greg his job and then his girl Mary...they are from Racine. And the last gal is Sondra (right?) She's Brad's girl and currently lives up in Athens. She's not the last girl...Daisy's the last girl!!! We ran into Daisy and her owners in City Market...her dad, Kyle, actually is from Hustisford and is cousins with a guy from my class! He's in the military and is married to Abbie who's from Savannah (that's his hand and glass.)

Here's the little man! He had a shower one night sans tube so they took some pictures. Awww. If you go to Charles' blog you can see more and even videos. He had rice cereal the other day!

This is Angie's little guy Tyler taken awhile ago, but I wanted to compare & contrast the two peanuts...

And this is our new car. Hahaha...right. We saw this downtown. Later we saw it by City Market and some Asians were "trying" to drive it. They grinded while shifting and backed into a chain link fence. Luckily the fence was there...otherwise they'd have been 6 stories down in a hole.

That's about it. Greg went to watch the Packer game, but I have come down with a cold, so I opted to stay home and rest. After the game we have to find Greg a halloween costume!

Five Dollar Brats?!?!

Are you freaking kidding me?!?! Um, no. Sadly we went down to "Oktoberfest" earlier today and were relishing in the fine odors of brats and sauerkraut (kraut, yuck) and had a hankering for a "bratwurst" (heaven forbid they just call it a brat...oh wait, they might think they actually meant a mean little kid) until we saw they were $5. What a rip!

This is how it should be done.
Cost in 1983-$1:
Cost Today-$1

How 'bout those Badgers!!! Keep it going boys! I guess Barry didn't make a bad choice 'tall!

We went and saw The Departed today. Excellent...don't wait for video...especially if you want to know what they're talking about at the Oscars. :) Go Leo! Go Jack!
